Clubs Deadline, AGM & Fixtures for 2021 – Proposed Changes
We hope the truncated season was successful for everyone and players got some meaningful cricket. As previous communications, we will be looking to undertake a formal survey in due course, but we’d welcome any feedback.
Normally we’d have communicated with you all by now to firm up the number of teams you plan to have entered into the leagues for 2021, to allow us to get an agenda set for the AGM in November and fixtures sorted over the Christmas period. However, given where we are and the fact that none of us know what next season will look like, we are proposing to push these back by a period of 2 months. This will hopefully give us a little more time to see what the chances of a ‘normal’ season will be and hopefully give clubs some time to canvas players’ opinion.
In an ideal world (!?) we would simply look for the 2020 fixtures to become the 2021 fixtures, however we are dependent on ground availability and we know player availability may very well be different, so it may not be that easy. We shall see.
So the proposed timelines:
- Confirmation from clubs of numbers of teams for 2021 season – November 30th 2020
- ESCA AGM – by end January 2021
- Fixtures – by end of February 2021
We would keep an eye on these dates and the changing Covid situation and keep clubs aware of any further changes.
We note that this is different to our constitution and, as such, we have to inform clubs that this is our proposed course of action. If clubs have any objections, please can you write to us within 14 days.
We hope you are in agreement that this is a sensible approach and gives us all the best chance of playing in 2021.
