Masterton Semi Final & Final 2023 – Re-scheduling

This evening’s (11th July ’23) semi-final between Carlton and Heriots has been cancelled due to weather.

While tomorrow evening had been pencilled in is as a reserve date if required, we have been advised that there are umpire availability problems this Wednesday and therefore the semi-final is rescheduled for this Thursday, 13 July ’23.

As you all know, the Final was scheduled for 13th July and that cannot now happen. Given the very unsettled weather forecast for the rest of this week, we further propose that we forget about the first reserve date of Friday 14th and move the Final to Thursday 20th July ’23 ,which was the second published reserve date.

Hopefully the weather will be more settled next week.

We appreciate that Linlithgow CC are preparing to host the Final but rather than work from day to day this week, moving to the 20th will allow the club time to prepare with some ‘breathing space’.

The Masterton Committee hope that all involved will understand the rationale behind these changes and hopefully the semi-final can be played this Thursday and the Final can go ahead on Thursday week.
